93 Points - Issac James Baker “Bright lemon color. A fresh and inviting aromatic display of green apples, white peach, and kiwi, along with almond skin, saltine cracker, and flinty minerals. Racy and taut on the palate but this has an incredibly deep texture, with this harmony between waxy and oceanic elements. Green apple, papaya, white peach, the fruit is mixed with nuanced tones of oyster shell, white pepper, and some green herbs and savory tones that need air to come out. A nerd’s wine but one that a casual fan would likely also find delicious. This spends 17 months in neutral French oak.”

Nate Wall’s Winemaking Notes
Our Grenache Blanc was harvested at Troon Vineyard for the first time on October 5, 2022. Grenache Blanc is a very versatile grape, which we planted to serve multiple roles. Grenache Blanc is both a high acid and high sugar grape, meaning that it can maintain its acidity even in very warm years while also achieving a high level of ripeness leading to richer, rounder wines. It’s great for blending, can add beautiful aromas and textures if made into our amber wines, and also can stand alone. As 2022 was the first harvest of Grenache Blanc at Troon, we had a small crop – just three barrels of wine. After pressing to neutral French oak barrels, the wine underwent a very long, slow fermentation – so long that it wasn’t ready for bottling along with the other white wines and we decided to let it further age on its lees in barrel. This extended aging adds extra texture and richness to the wine as the lees impart more of their creamy, smooth character. This is counterbalanced by this wine's exceptional acidity (pH 3.13!). After seventeen months in barrel, our Grenache Blanc was bottled unfined and unfiltered with a small sulfur addition.
